Steady hands, wagging tails
We’re looking for a calm, reliable off-leash walker and driver to join our pack. This is a physically active, outdoor role with a consistent daily routine. You’ll transport dogs safely across SF, supervise off-leash play at our Montara ranch, and deliver the same steady, trustworthy presence every single day. Dogs notice consistency, and so do we.
If you’re looking for a long-term career with a path toward dog training, this is your place.
What you'll do
- Drive and transport dogs in company vans along established SF routes
- Supervise off-leash play and socialization at our Montara ranch
- Read dog body language and respond calmly and decisively to behavioral cues
- Send daily photo updates and brief client reports via our mobile app
- Maintain a clean, safe vehicle and follow all safety protocols
- Complete ongoing training in dog behavior, Pet CPR, and First Aid
You’re a great fit if you
- Thrive in a structured, predictable daily routine and take pride in showing up the same way every time
- Have a calm, grounded presence with dogs; you read them intuitively rather than reacting emotionally
- Stay steady under pressure and recover quickly when situations shift
- Are physically active and comfortable working outdoors year-round in all weather
- Communicate clearly and professionally with teammates and clients
- Are genuinely passionate about dogs and curious about canine behavior
This role isn’t for you if
- Driving a van in San Francisco traffic feels uncomfortable
- Large groups of dogs feel overwhelming or stressful
- You prefer variety and spontaneity over a consistent daily routine
- Outdoor physical work in all conditions isn't something you enjoy
Requirements, schedule and pay
- Requirements
- Valid California Driver's License (Class C) with a clean driving record
- 5+ years of city driving experience preferred
- Ability to lift up to 70 lbs and work outdoors year-round
- Smartphone (iOS or Android) for daily communication and reporting
- Schedule
- Monday through Friday: 7:30 am to 2:30 pm or 8:30 am to 3:30 pm. Occasional weekend shifts as needed.
- Pay
- Starting at $22/hour based on experience. Full-time (35-40 hrs/week) or part-time (~20 hrs/week) available.
Full-time perks and benefits
- 50% group health insurance or $100/month health stipend
- 72 hours paid sick time plus paid holidays
- $50/month cell phone reimbursement
- Paid dog training certifications and continuing education
- Clear path toward a dog trainer role for motivated candidates
- Quarterly reviews with raise and bonus potential
- Employer-sponsored IRA with company contributions
- Company van provided; fuel and maintenance fully covered
